"Welcome to the class, dear, now quiet down" said Professor Trelawny. As I said before, does anyone know why you shouldn't touch another person while doing the reading?"

Emily spoke up, knowing the answer, "Isn't it because the reader's electric current- or whatever- will transfer to the person, so the genuine features of his hands will be lost?"

"Very good! twenty points to Gryffindor. You must be sure not to touch the hand of the person who has come for palm-analysis. This is becuase the electric current of your body will come in contact wuth the current of his body and the genuine features of his hands will be lost. Therefore keep your hands folded while seeing any hand. Ordinarily, a hand can be seen at any time but the best time for this is morning time when the person wishing to show his hand had neither breakfast nor taken any food. The blood circulation gets speedier after taking food due to which the minor lines on the hand become almost invisible after the intake of food."
"Now today, we will not be doing a full reading, however, we will learn witch line is the deepest in a person's hand, therefore being the one of strongest influence."
Professor Trelawny glanced around the room quickly before resting her eyes on her two favorite students. "Can anyone tell me the names of the three major lines?" she asked.

Anna smiled at her friend Kale, "You decided not to skip today?" She whispered. Raising her hand slightly, for the teacher to pick her answer. Instead of waiting for the teacher to pick her she blurted out what she thought the correct lines were " Hearts, Head and life...' But I thought there was four major lines, umm the forth being fate, but i think it is also called destiny." She said with giving her a small smile. "But the fate line is sometimes broken or faded or maybe missing all together' my fate line isn't missing though" Anna explained, giving the teacher another smile.

Kale smirked and whipsered "Smart ass" To Anna. "Ya I decided to come to class. Don't get used to it though." Kale said laughing. "'But the fate line is sometimes broken or faded or maybe missing all together' my fate line isn't missing though' I'm Anna and uh I'm like sooo smart, like, oh,ma gawd. I think I broke a nail." Kale said mocking Anna. Kale started rolling around in her seat laughing. She knew Anna would know it was a joke, and would see the humor in it. "AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA" Kale was laughing so hard there were tears comming down her cheeks. She calmed herself down and tried getting rid of the tears.

Anna burst out into laughter after, Kale began to cry. "Shut up' I do not act like that.." She said begging to calm down, sitting up at the teacher she gave her a weak smile, holding her laughter. Anna eyes lit up, " Oh Professor Trelawny, can you read my palm after class?!" Anna said kind of excited, she could probally read it her self, but the Professor was obviously better at it. "All I know is that I am gunna be mad famous one day, just look at my fame line" She said holding out her palm smiling, then begging to bust out into laughter.

Professor Trelawny smiled at Anna, "That is correct! The three main lines are the life, head, and heart line, but another main line is the fate line, appearing only sometimes on both hands, but mostly on the dominant hand!" she glanced at Kal, a little upset for making fun of the wonderous art of divination, but chose to pretend she hadn't said anything, except for asking if she could do a palm reading. "And of course, girls, I would love to do a reading for you both!"

"Yes, of course, dear." she said with a wave of her hand. But truely she was quite pleased that some of the girls found her class exciting. "Now back to teaching you the basics... " Professor Trelawwny thought for a moment, trying to remember where she had left off. She looked at the three girls in front of her, "Where was I," she asked.

"Different kind of lines' So I think we are on minor's" Anna said looking at Emily unsure and looking at back at the teacher. Kale would probably make some smart ass comment, but she really did not care, not that Anna would want to admit this but she was almost put into Raveclaw because of her brains, thanks for her personality of cunning and sly and very power hungry, she was placed into Slytherin, were her parents hopped she would be in, to follow there tradition.

"Oh yes! Thank you Miss Percy." said Professor Trelawny. "But, I'm afraid we will not be learning the minor lines until next lesson. However, we will discover which line is your strongest, and what it means." she looked around the room. "Everyone sit at a table with at least one other person. You are going to learn one of the first things a reader learns when they look at a person's palm. Now remember, what shouldn't you do while reading a person's palm?" she asked, knowing that most likely either Emily or Anna would have her answer.

"Thank you Miss Percy. We should get together for tea sometime..you can teach me how to fix my hair, and complain about broken nails and such." Kale said in a high pitched voice. Then she vaguely heard the Professor ask what you shouldn't do when reading one's palm. Kale groaned and said, "Ugh, Isn't..don't touch the person or you'll like..send electric discharge and electricute 'em or summin?"Kale smiled smugly, proud of herself for proving Anna and The Gryffindor chick weren't the only smart ones. She could be a smart ass when she wanted to. Kale was actually quite smart, she just didn't show it. Kale was more of the layed back tyoe who made fun of the smart people. "Yo Anna! Be ma partner will you?" Kale said hoping she would say yes. If she didn't Kale would just find some hot guy to be partners with.

Blaise stared after Dani as she stormed out of the room wondering just what she meant by what she had said. Looking over at Anna with a raised eyebrow he shook his head and looked back at the Professor. Sighing he got to his feet grabbing his bag then leaving the room, the class was no use to him anyways and he was quite bored, plus he wanted an answer to his question. He couldn't stand the thought that his best friend and his girlfriend hated each other but most of all that someone seemed to be hidding something.

Professor Trelawney looked at the third girl in surprise, "Yes, that is correct." she said. "Now, to show you where you are looking; the life line starts between the thumb and pointer finger and swoops either across to the center of the palm, or down to the base of the thumb." she pointed it out on her own palm. "The head line, also called the thought line, also starts between the thumb and pointer finger, but it is located above the life line, although the life and head lines are sometimes joint at the beginning. Thje heart line is located near the top of the hand, normally starting anywhere from beaneth the pointer to beneath the middle fingers and either swoops down or cuts accross your palm." she pointed out each line on her own palm in turn. "Now, I will do a reading on someone's palm for an example." she looked around, her eyes falling on Emily. "Emily, let's have a look to see which line is the deepest in your palm."
